Some copyrighted images may be used in The Big Internet Museum, providing they meet both the legal criteria for fair use, and our own guidelines for non-free content. We will always try to replace copyrighted images by free images. The following list is not exhaustive but contains the most common cases where non-free images may be used.

The Big Internet Museum never uses any content for commercial ends by reproducing and/or reselling it. The copyrighted material in the content is not intended to help our museum derive any financial or other business-related benefits. The museum does not generate financial transactions or business, nor does it pursue any financial gain from the content.

If your copyrighted material is used on this Web site and you don’t agree to its use, please e-mail us and we will replace it immediately. Please keep in mind that all the material is used strictly for nonprofit and educational purposes, and that we ensure that all the information in the museum’s pieces and articles are non-fiction; furthermore they are thoroughly checked and verified by numerous dedicated professionals. In every respect the museum is a tribute to all the pioneers who have made the Internet what it is today. It was created for them and, of course, for fun.
